My grandfather was a Baptist minister in Latvia when the Soviets came. Imprisoned for his faith, they shattered his wrist and left him disfigured—I grew up staring at those crooked bones, a reminder of what the twentieth century did to my family. When World War II ended, they were living in a displaced persons camp in Berlin; my father was twelve. He returned to that divided city years later as a U.S. Army photographer, documenting the Cold War he'd inherited. At five years old, I decided I would guard against the Soviets too—a promise that made me the first in my family to finish college and carried me into the Air Force.

That inheritance is why I write. The Harlot and the Grail trilogy—PARIS, NEW ORLEANS, and JERUSALEM—follows one family's hidden bloodline through two thousand years of history's fault lines, from the Crusades to occupied France to the Covid crisis. It's fiction. The world that tried to erase people like Sarah Goldstein was not.

Always in search of greener pastures, I’ve worn collars of every color: welder, stockbroker, data analyst, even inventor. But the pen is my truest calling and my focus since 2016. Currently living in Nashville, Tennessee where I publish under my imprint, Vieux Carré Press.
